Founder and director of AZ Premier GK Academy, Adam Colunga, has over 30 years of experience both playing and coaching the goalkeeper position. A native of Glendale, AZ Adam grew up playing for the Sereno Soccer Club where he won the U-18 State Championship with the 83 Golden Eagles and was a 3-year member of the 82 Arizona OPD team. He played his high school soccer at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale where he was a 4-year varsity letter winner and received All-Region honors his junior and senior seasons. Adam played his college soccer at New York University where he was voted the 2001 ECAC Tournament MVP and won multiple University Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week Awards. He finished his playing career as NYU's all-time record holder for shutouts, a record which he still holds today. After holding the position of Goalkeeper Coach at Paradise Valley Community College from 2014-2015 Adam founded AZ Premier GK Academy and has been coaching goalkeepers ever since. Adam has a United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Level 1 Diploma, is certified in plyometrics training by the National Association of Professional Trainers.
