My son is 12yr, is 5ft tall, weighs 90lb. He is slim, and fits the youth large. This equipment is definitely worth it. Making dives is hard on the hips and knees. This gear protects from hip spurs and turf burn. If you can afford it, go for it.
Calves ran a bit tight, had to exchange for larger size, otherwise great
